Nah, I’m pretty sure that Slitherpon is going for ‘The Elements of Harmony are alive even after the main six were brutally slaughtered’. That’s the plot here. Sweetie belle is new Pinkie Pie and the new element of Laughter. Diamond Tiara - Fluttershy, Kindness. I’m not sure how SilverSpoon is supposed to be Magic but she is clearly new Twilight  
I really can’t believe that one of the characters was killed for a silly reference.

I’m reminded of a live action show that I think was on nick where it’s about a bully getting turned into a dog and had to do 100 good deeds and the only person who could help him was the last kid he picked on.

but this twist really confuses me. the implications of fillies falling to their horrible death unnoticed even to themselves aside, how is apple bloom supposed to kill sweetie now?
