Gengar is always a good pick just due to his sheer specialization in sweeping. As for Snorlax he’s one of my all-time favorites and was even the most defining pokemon in competetive during the first two generations.

Actually the team is mainly just a matter of preferance for me… Gangar and snorlax are old favorites from way back when. Heck I had stuffed animals of them. Richu was the first card I ever got. Gallade is just awesome. aggron is on the list as a wild card (he’s like a tm swis army knife) Gloom just proved useful a lot in red. Hard to poison, it healed itself with mega drain. Plus in the show it was used to make perfume. The list was kinda just my dream team… They work well enough for me in game, and I never really battle anyone so I guess there is just nostalgia in there as well.

you have two weaknesses to psychic, one double-weak and one single weak to fighting, and everything else can be knocked out with 1/2 STAB Earthquakes (2 is assuming your Snorlax has defense EVs). While Gengar’s Levitate can provide a safe switch-in on a well predicted Earthquake, it isn’t likely that it wants to go toe-to-toe with anything using it on equal ground in the first place. This is all just type coverage and not even considering the base stats of everything other than Snorlax and Gengar.
