You’re thinking of the OTHER princess. :)
This version of him is easy to see as the most accurate so far, by virtue of A) not being in the comics, and B) not being a poster depicting someone not seen in hundreds of years.
Also, I figure his coat whitened with age.
His appearance keeps changing. For all we know, he could be a red-and-black, edgy unicorn OC with a morphing spell.
Yeah this is like fourth version of Starswirl. There is one in FF2 playing Gandalf, one in Reflection arc who is much older and skinnier, there is white one in the TAC poster and this blue one in Rainbow Rocks. I wont even mention the one from story book in Twilights Kingdom becasue they are way too simplified in those pages to even consider them.
To be fair, they did give us a clear visual of what he may have looked like in Rainbow Rocks.

Yeah, in comics. But Starswirl from comics is different from the show and even on this picture he seem to be modeled on Starswirl from the poster in Threes a Crowd. But his official face ance character are still a mystery. He could still be blue or white with long or short beard.
