Well to be fair for some reason this one got a second chance, somebody re-uploaded a higher resolution version and “bumped” it. It says posted 3 days ago, but it’s really from early April. That said it is my most popular still image on deviantart too.
 
But what’s so bad about a piece of art getting lots of upvotes because of the subject matter? Sure technical skill is important, but it’s certainly not all there is to a piece of art. The subject matter and execution of said subject matter is an equally important piece of the picture, arguably more important.  
If something is absolutely beautifully painted but the subject is totally uninspired and boring, would you really rate the latter as superior?  
The audience on the internet and this website more specifically tends to like video games a lot. You can’t blame them for relating to and being more attracted to pictures which depict their favorite past-time.

I prefer consoles, my computers are always to obsolete for gaming really… Plus I hate gaming with a keyboard, sense I think I have a touch of carpel-tunnel.

it’s funny how the first thing gamers notice is that twilight’s controller is not plugged in and not that there is plushy Celestia in the corner

It’s weird how all game consoles look like PC towers now, and such.
 
I kinda miss the days when they gave them all unique looks, like the Sega Genesis, SuperNES, GameCube, and such.

Twilight, I think the game would go better if your controller were plugged in.
