It depends on who you ask. I actually have that headcanon that her full name is Ditzy “Derpy” Doo also. (With “Derpy” as a nickname.) Though, some fans insist “Ditzy” is a completely different pony, and such.
 
The touchyness over her name (especially ever sense the “Derpygate” incident) is probably also why they’re reluctant to give her any name on the official merch’. Some people actually get angry if you call her “Ditzy-Doo.”
 
I think overall, she can be whatever we want. If you want to call her “Steve,” then that’s fine to.

I know her alternate fanon name “Ditzy-Doo” isn’t used, or very popular anymore, but personally, I wasn’t bothered by it. (And yes, before I get lectured again, I know “Ditzy-Doo” was originally an unseen character not meant to be Derpy. Though, Faust did say they considered calling her that as a nod to the ep’, but stated “she can still be Derpy if people want.” Also, originally in the script to the “Last Round-up,” she was called “Ditzy” originally, but they changed it to “Derpy” as a fan-nod, and we all know how that turned out unfortunately.)
 
Apparently, that DA stamp was kinda old, and made back when half the fanbase still called her that before the “Derpygate” drama soured people on giving her any alternate names. (I admit I called her by both names personally. In fact, I still like calling Bowser by his old name “King Koopa” sometimes to.)  
I like calling her “Derpy Doo” sometimes to.

Sadly yes. They almost got in, but there’s a reason for their removal. Apparently, they wouldn’t work very well on the 3DS’s hardware.
 
They still appear as a collectable trophy however, (perhaps this is the model they were going to use for them) and the polar bear enemies appear as enemies in “Smash Run.”

Kinda ironic, ‘cause many other characters featured in the new Smash aren’t getting any new games anytime soon either.  
(Shulk’s not even going to be in the new “Xenoblade” game, and some games like F-Zero are dead.)
 
Admittedly, a new “Ice Climbers” done kinda like “Pac Man Arrangement” would be cool. Like add new features like boss battles, improve the physics, and such.

Indeed, while I’ll kinda miss the Ice Climbers, & Wolf O’Donnel, (I liked him better then Falco) I’m personally quite pleased with the game’s huge roster.
