That would be a tricky design choice. If you are building any semi-complex electronics, you’d have to take proactive steps to avoid one, because they are commonly built into CPUs and microcontrollers of any moderate complexity. Usually integrated with thermal shutdown protection, their readouts are often exposed to the programmer. Also, temperature influences semiconductor characteristics and in any sensing applications needs to be compensated for. Your phone’s touchscreen would not work correctly on a cold weather day without a temperature sensor - but about all (except oldest and utterly crappy) touchscreen driver chips have one.

From the beginning. While separate episodes have their leading theme, they do keep a continuity, so if you started with the “Matripony” you’d be at loss why Twilight is the Princess of the Night.

Don’t diss FiW. APPLE.MOV series is dry, vulgar and insulting, and pretty much nothing more. FiW sure does have that dry outermost layer, but it also has some… quite disturbing, deeper dark humor. I mean, dammit, the Matripony episode ending, I was torn between cursing and laughing at how they subverted the “Twilight meets Cadance” scene.

Having returned to this thread after some time, I believe I am at liberty to mention something. I find it so fascinating how this fandom can take a single concept and make it grow to such an extent that it might as well be canon. Sweetie Bot is one of my favorite examples of this, despite my never having seem FiW, as well as the fact that I probably never will (Dry/vulgar/insulting humor loses its meaning with me).
