I have been to a funeral and a pallbearer 5 times in my lifetime. In most cases there has been a lot of grieving before and afterward. I think only once was there something of a a celebration for the person we buried. It does depend on the culture that the person was a part of.

I still think it was straight out bad writing when she was so insensitive in Filli Vanilli.  
Pinkie is fairly perceptible when it comes to other people’s moods (and how to alter them). Sure, she doesn’t seem to really mind annoying or frustrating people to a degree, and she can be oblivious about things, but outright terrifying Fluttershy like that? She’s not that oblivious (and never, ever, when it matters) and definitely not that cruel. Ever since S3 started, nobody can write Pinkie to save their lives.

Sorry to break it to you, but funerals everywhere involve people crying. I don’t have the faintest idea what does mourning have to do specifically with the USA.  
The thought of never being able to interact with a loved one again usually makes people sad, at least people who aren’t complete psychopaths, that is. Sad people sometimes cry. How is this exclusive to the USA again?
 
And while I don’t believe, I don’t understand what’s so “inexplicable” about people burying their dead in adherence to their religious beliefs. “Inexplicable” would be for them to decide to do it any other way.

I do seem to remember there are a few instances of a small party after a funeral in a sitcom. This is of course only if the family is white. It should be equally obvious what happens at the after party if they’re black. :j
 
I’d have a better frame of reference than TV if I was able to attend my great-grandma’s earlier this year. :C

From my experience, the sad funeral comes first, then later they have an event where they celebrate the happy times they had with that person.

That should be “happy memories”. Although, I suppose how each country celebrates differs only slightly. Although, Americans inexplicably make it all about Iehovah somehow. <.<

All countries except for America celebrate the memories of the deceased at a funeral. Have I mentioned how much America sucks? XD
