Get it in your thick head, we do not know the ages of them, so what if they where in the same grade, that is nor proof of age.

Oh really, then I guess I didn’t have a friend in the 6th grade that was six months younger then me and another that was sever months older and both in the 6th grade with me then.
 
There is NOTHING to say the ages of Shy and Dash, so it’s just as likely they are a year apart as it is they are a week apart.

And the bottom line is the only real facts we have is that in the flashback in Cutie Mark Chronicles Shy was taller then Dash and in Griffon the Brush-Off Shy said she was a year older the Pinkie.  
Other then that there are not facts about the ages of them.

She could also be a few weeks younger, or a few days older, or born on the exact same day, or anything. No reason to believe she’s older, but if she is, it isn’t a significant age difference.

As I said earlier she may have had an growth spurt before the other, if that was the case then she could be only a few weeks older but the growth spurt would of made her taller.
