All in all, what Celestia is wearing here can be best described as “wearable metal male-gaze magnet”.

seriously, that shoulder pauldron looks straight from a WoW tier armor set! and those slabs over her hips would tear a chair to pieces if you tried to sit with them!
she even has metal kneepads. reinforced kneepads are only used in two places, armor and sports outfits. And this doesn’t look like a football outfit to me.
I just don’t see how this can conceivably be considered anything but armor.
It could be metal lingerie. I’ll again mention that outfit from “Return of the Jedi”.
