Man. It’s not the CGI itself that I have a problem with here. The “floating” issue really comes down to the fact that they just had the actor hold his hands out in front of him and very obviously didn’t bother to do anything (physical or digital) to provide stabilization between his hands or give some sense of weight.
 
Talk about laziness and poor planning…

It’s not awesome, it’s absolutely horrible computer graphics animation slapped on a movie that is part of a series that just loves to find new ways to make me hate it. These “actors” must have been rounded up from some back alley of Hollywood. Apparently the Bay effect is still in full force.

I had no idea what Ned was talking about when he told me to brace myself for the ten thousandth time.

When the review I watched for this said the effects look worse than the last movies in the series, I never expected it to be so bad, the CG a fucking PLUSHIE!

Why is this tagged plushie? That isn’t a plushie. It’s an enlarged CG vinyl Funko figure.

Toola Roola would be cool, even as a background/bit character. Oddly G3 Rainbow Dash was more into fashion, and stuff like Rarity. Which is odd looking back on it, as “Rainbow Dash” doesn’t sound like the kinda name that would suit a pony with that personality. It sounds more like a pony that likes to move fast, or “dash” to me now, thanks to G4.
 
Also, actually G4 Tirek is a bit different from the G1 Tirek, as they changed his orgins slightly, (Tirek & Scorpan weren’t brothers in the original show) he doesn’t have the “rainbow of darkness” anymore, (has the ability to steal/absorb magic instead) and his face is a li’l more like a bull’s face now.  
Admittedly, I was quite happy to see they brought back, and retooled a G1 villain, especially Tirek. Makes me curious what others might work for the show.

I like the FiM redesigns too, but the G3 ones have very little in common with their old selves (for a good reason). Rainbow Dash is more Fire Fly than she is her G3 version really. Tirek is pretty much implied to be THE G1 Tirek.
 
Though I’d like to see Toola Roola in FiM style.

I don’t know, I liked how they redid some of the G3 characters in G4. (Though, they were mostly based off G1 ponies, but with G3 names.) I wouldn’t mind them redoing Whimsey Weatherbe (that dragon girl) personally. I liked Karzahnii’s redesign of her.

Yeah, admittedly G1 was alright, just didn’t age too well.  
After all they actually brought back Tirek, a recognizable G1 villain. G3 has literally no characters worth bringing over in FiM unless they’re completely overhauled like Cheerilee and Scootaloo.

Also, if it wasn’t for Transformers FiM would have been the same shallow toy commercial for children like the previous MLP shows.
