Seeing this scene was truly heartbreaking for me…it was as if the Princesses had never found their true destiny after all those years and centuries of being Equestria’s Royal Family, and were still blank flanks…

I always thought the black marks were part of Luna’s cutie mark but I guess they aren’t. My new head canon is that they’re birthmarks.

Hey! At least Cerberus did something when the Princesses arrived in Tartarus. He made them comfortable in case they did remain imprisoned and ensured they were safe from the other convicts.
 
They only had the one shackle on their front leg, and that vanished once their magic they gave Twilight that Tirec then stole, then lost to the Rainbow Power, was then returned to its rightful owners, restoring their strength, magic, Cutie Marks and, for the Royal Sisters, the eternal flowing motion of their manes and tails.
 
After that…Looks like Cerberus has a new chew toy to nibble on for a little payback to the Princesses’ imprisonment…
