Eh, she could be of latina descent, I’ve seen people in real life whose skin is as dark as her’s, and I’d say they have dark skin. But I’m not sure, I don’t know much about how skin color works.

Her face though… That is definitely not an expression of mercy. I’m not really sure what emotion she’s trying to get across there.
