yeah, they were piss poor compared to the other games making the shotgun a god send. Infact most the weapons are like that.  
Scythe < Spinners  
Axe > Gauntlets  
Pistols < Shotgun
 
You really only use then for significant door once you realize their battle potential is disgraceful. Not to mention you need them for getting secrets in earlier levels make replay mandatory and bogus seeing you couldn’t get the best score until later.
 
I really, really, REALLY hope Capcom actually gets the stick out of their ass and that Devil May Cry game they hinted at is the much anticipated Devil May Cry 5. With Dante being a bad ass again with awesome Guns and awesome Devil arms, and even more awesome boss fights!

You know what bothered me the most out of DmC? Ebony and Ivory getting nerfed. I mean, for fuck’s sake, they’re custom made, match grade pistols shooting demonic ammo and those idiots made them as useful as an air rifle in a tactical warhead fight.
