Flash Sentry in your OTPs, stealing your waifus.

SPOILER ALERT: In “Rainbow Rocks”, Sunset Shimmer said to the Rainbooms that she never like Flash Sentry because she’s using him to become more popular in Canterlot High. So it looks like Sunset Shimmer is okay when her former rival had a crush on her (Sunset Shimmer’s) former boyfriend in the movie.

As far as I can tell, it’s not being able to explode Flash Sentry with her mind that gets him interested in a girl; it’s being willing to. Someone who couldn’t use magic but might knife him would be far more interesting than someone with ultimate arcane power and the maturity to use it responsibly.
 
As for whether he’s interested in such girls, or they’re interested in him, I’m pretty sure it’s both. Sunset Shimmer pulling a switchblade on a janitor because her pizza was late, or Twilight Sparkle tearily confessing that they could never be together because she was secretly a rainbow unicorn princess from the magical land of ponies, would not have any adverse effect at all on good old Brad.
 
(Yes, my examples are drawing off of Human Flash, but I see no reason to doubt that the same is true of Pony Flash – mutatis mutandis, at least.)

He’s not sure if he’s attracted to mares that could probably explode him with their mind, or the mares are attracted to him. Hmm, I wonder if he has any pet scorpions, snakes, or Tarantula Hawk wasps.
