I shoot guns for both reasons. Hell, as soon as I live on my own I’m going to start practicing dual-wielding. Is practice makes perfect, then you can practice dual-wielding enough to be able to do it effectively.

Bro. You need to shoot a revolver, because it has a good kick depending upon the caliber. I’ve shot my dad’s Ruger Cowboy-style Double-action .357 magnum, and the kick feels good.

Never used a revolver before. The only handgun I ever used is an M1911.

…I just realized it actually SAYS .45 on the barrel. Well alright then.

As for the guns in the picture, they probably use .45 or .50 rounds as many large-caliber posts of the day did. Though, far be it from me to overanalyze fanwork.

Actually in Halo the pistols use 12.7x40mm rounds. Still half an inch, but definitely not a round that exists.
 
The closest rounds to real life bullets are the 7.62x51mm rounds used in the MA5 and MA37 assault rifles as well as the DMRs, but even then those aren’t the same jacketted NATO rounds made by FN today.

I think you’re confusing things with Ponibooru. Note the date of upload here was just after Ponibooru went read-only, during the initial surge of 2k+ uploads a day. I think it more likely the image was posted a few weeks or less prior on Ponibooru before appearing here, and thus largely unnoticed as it was still “fresh”.
