I might be a few months late but the whole MMC scenario was her trying to fix the spell. First step was finding out what was the problem with it.
@iamli3
Discord’s reformation it seems to be referencing, while Celestia wanted Discord to behave of his own free will, Twilight instead searched for a spell to make him behave.
@AlsoSprachOdin
oh you mean this comment “She has manipulative tendencies, she tends to go to extreme measures in a lot of cases, she sees mind control as an acceptable solution to misbehavior (or rather, perceived misbehavior) and she seems to have both an inability to learn from her own mistakes and a pretty messed up set of priorities.”
we’re alive , and we’re alive the way we are because we manipulate our environment to our advantage , now if you wanna say that’s evil that’s another discussion altogether but just saying we/she has manipulative tendencies isn’t enough on it’s own……
extreme measures is relative and doesn’t have an implicit moral application to it…..
“she sees mind control as an acceptable solution to misbehavior” idk what this is referring to…..
what is he talking about? twilight’s learned from almost all her mistakes made in the show thus far….
>pretty messed up set of priorities
>doesn’t explain what those priorities are…..
@iamli3
I was referring more to the notion that Twilight is already pretty evil in canon, what with the skewed priorities - as Mayojar77 pointed out - for example.
Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve watched the series proper, so I’m intrigued.
@AlsoSprachOdin
actually don’t think i i can make anything happen here , the original post was “I for one whole-heartedly support Twilight going evil. Come on, think of it. Brother vs. brother, shattered harmony, a battle of the ages. “? , what is he even talking about?….
as for twi becoming evil , the best thing we have for that is fics , since that’s never going to happen for the show sadly . ……
@Mayojar77
Guys, I wasn’t actually trying to start a big thing about this. I was just having a good laugh and spinning some ideas that I thought would be interesting.
@Mayojar77
I’d have to agree with Majojar77 on this, especially the last part….her priorities.
Twilight’s priorities form some of the most immoral and messed up mindsets. I’m not talking about just Lesson Zero, which was played for laughs, I’m talking about Crystal Empire and a lot of S4, where the question between homework and saving the world is actually an issue due to mentor. Not only that, but just how she generally treats people like Spike, even though most don’t want to here it, he really is her servent in some scenes.
While all of them have some priority issues, none even remotely come close to Twilight’s. Even some villains would raise their eyebrows on how messed up they are.

It does make her fun!
Don’t misunderstand; not being a completely pure, monotonously responsible paladin whose only instinct is to do the “right thing” is great!
Just saying, it could lead to the occasional dabbling in villainy. It happens.

I’m really sorry about the cookies. I didn’t know they were for EVERYONE.
@Background Pony #E1EF
I don’t seem to remember Rarity mind controlling anyone. Or Applejack putting the future of Equestria in jeopardy because she switched around the Elements of Harmony because wanted to learn a new spell without knowing what it did.
@AlsoSprachOdin
She has manipulative tendencies, she tends to go to extreme measures in a lot of cases, she sees mind control as an acceptable solution to misbehavior (or rather, perceived misbehavior) and she seems to have both an inability to learn from her own mistakes and a pretty messed up set of priorities.
