I realized that after I made it. I haven’t seen the episode since it first aired.
Let’s not forget his little swivel chair turnaround at the end of “The Sting.”
I am always amazed by the fact that they managed to write a character that is basically a giant warmonger who creates conflict ONLY get to some profit out of it (basically playing with human lives), but is still extremely likable and charasmatic.
Overly complicated plans that usually end in his favor no matter what, accepts defeat when it’s clear and doesn’t take it personally, perfectly willing to help the heroes at times, even if it is only for his self-interest.
Yep.
As far as I’m concerned, Varrick is the Spiritual Successor to David Xanatos.
Man built a prison with a luxury suite for himself because he knew that someday he’d end up there and he still has a hang gilder there for easy escape.
Yeah. Him and Zhu Li are hiding out in Equestria. We haven’t seen Ponified Varrick, but Zhu Li is deep cover as Raven (the assistant pony to the Mayor/Celestia).
WAIT!
When everything went tits-up at the end of season 2, HE WENT TO EQUESTRIA! THAT WAS HIS BACKUP-PLAN!
among other things
To get away from crazy, waterbending girlfriends?
Varrick is Varrick I wouldn’t doubt he just has a portal to equristia.
I thought that as well, but it was apparently Ingrid Wilson.
So the important question is: Who is Varrick here?
“Is this thing fast enough to get away from my crazed boulder smashing sister?”
“Why do you think I built the thing?”
