Nah. It is a WW2 Stahlhelm with a Pickelhaube point atop.
The hat point is a symbol of WW1 in the media hivemind while the WW2 stahlhelm is the quintessential German helmet shape.
It is obvious that the animator unconsciously combined them. Her outfit which resembles the Wehrmacht winter long coat is probably just an awesome coincidence.

Pinkie’s hair and tail are hardly a separated phenomenon. AJ’s has been using her prehensile tail to manipulate things since Season 1.
And AJ has often demonstrated her ability to wreck shit with her hindlegs, it’s possible that Maud just preferred to work out her frontlegs. The effect is pretty much the same.

Multiple countries used that kind of helmet during the second half of the 19th century, including Russia, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Portugal, Norway, and Sweden.
This is a Swedish one from 1894, which is 20 years before WWI.
Bakusei Tenketsu! (That is a move from “Ranma 1/2”, also known as the “Breaking Point” technique, that an certain eternaly lost boy named Ryoga knows.)

Notice how they all take a step and a half a second after maud dashes off. They were all about to go charging in as well, but then saw Maud in action and were too stunned to act.
@AIDS Kitten
if you NOTICED riiight ast Maud sped off the others were just about to move but stopped due to her speed….they took so long probably due to just the shock of it all…its actually quite common.
