G3 being a future story of these ponies in G3.5 and being made earlier than all the G3.5 cartoons (or shorts)… It is actually a very good idea to create something new and different, but to continue what was before at the same time. It’s only bad that there were not so many ponies from G3 in all these new shorts.

I just watched the two openings the other day. They managed to redo it in crazy detail. Point for point.
 
The art style change is sad, but the loss of Rainbow Dash’s darling original voice is the saddest. We all joke about it, but her second voice is just so generic and un-memorable.
 
But I don’t mind Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle becoming fillies, because… eh, mostly because the FIM versions are based on it.

Win - not as far as g3 or 3.5 will ever be concerned.
