…ok, did you really even read my comment? They sucked up to the CMC because they had connections with Princess Twilight, yet they never sucked up to pre-princess Twilight despite her (even stronger) connections to Princess Celestia. THAT MAKES NO SENSE!!

They probably just saw her as another boring authority figure and a Liberian who didn’t have any real titles or power,so why should they haves sucked up to her when no one in Ponyville seemed to.But when she’s a princess,suddenly,title,royal power,and also that was all part of their plan to humiliate the CMC.

…and how is it that Twilight meant nothing to DT and SS when she was Celestia’s student, but once she became a princess they start sucking up to the CMC when they aren’t even technically the Princess’s students like Twilight was before? Why didn’t they ever suck up to Twilight?

The CMC did a terrible job explaining themselves. “We weren’t using you, they just found out and started sucking up to us to get closer to you and we’ve been too busy with that drama to practice our lessons”
…well, I probably could’ve bought into that if the writers hadn’t used him to force the episode to a head (I mean seriously, the CMC would’ve been in the clear if he hadn’t just blurted out the episode’s premise to twilight with only the thinnest of plausibility to hide behind)…

Because then they’d have no one to project at. Unless they decide to just keep demonstrating imaginary “butthurt” (disliking something) from imaginary people reacting to an imaginary event, like they always do.
