thats a really nice thing to say about what is clearly a clever cameo the writers know they cant have him make a full comeback yet but there is Cadence PRINCESS OF LOVE for christs sake and she finds out her sister in law has a crush she is going to use the most subtle ways to get them together, like I dont know REQUESTING HIM TO ACCOMPANY HER when she visits twilight just to refresh both of their memories i think the cameo was clever and cute especially the way he smiled at the end at Twilight ……………

Crystal pegasi means there’s a good chance of there being crystal unicorns as well. It gives more credence to the crustal ponies being a LA rge parralel civilization instead of just an isolated subspecies.  
In short, horseworld just got rather a bit larger than we thought it was… Or perhaps I’m just over thinking something inconsequential.

Those of you who prefer to hang onto your crystal earth pony headcanons, remember that the entire mane six + cadance temporarily became crystal ponies when under the effects of the crystal heart. So we do know that conversion is possible. He wasn’t necessarily born a crystal pegasus.
