I mostly agree with your statement. Mostly. The version of him in Marble Hornets, known as “The Operator”, is a VERY good pants-stainer, though.
@Xenotype
I have been completely unable to take Slenderman seriously since I saw the video SLENDER MAN vs GANGNAM STYLE (강남스타일)
I sweep those things off my back porch tool shelf by the dozens in the Summer.
That just looks like Someone’s Uncle Herbert Who Has Marfan’s Syndrome, or a stiltwalker who got lost on the way to a Mardi gras parade.
@supermanhulkjesus
Also it’s the third game in a series, the first two games being “5 Days a Stranger” and “7 Days a Skeptic” so you might want to play those first. They aren’t as scary as Trilby’s Notes is (they’re often pretty comical actually).
The Tall Man is from an adventure game by Yahtzee called Trilby’s Notes. You can find it on his website. Fair warning, the game is absolutely terrifying.
I googled “the tall man,” and all I found were Slenderman stories and a movie that came out after Slenderman had become popular.
What you say !!
All Your Base… Those were the times.
And mediocre horror games don’t make it better.
This idiotic meme has never been the least bit scary. Kids These Days, sheesh. In My Day, we were scared of actual OH SWEET MOTHER OF COCKS terrifying shit, like Red #5 and Margaret Thatcher.
And the fact that as more and more people learn about it the more people are starting to report hallucinating about him and so forth. Lots of fun collective unconscious/tulpa/various other forms of “the mind makes it real” shit involved.
Oh please. Slenderman stopped being remotely “scary” when it had millions of silly memes made about it. If anything, it should be considered ridiculous now.
We don’t actually know that he kills people. The thing that makes slenderman scary is fear of the unknown and the uncanny valley.
Like Trenderman!
It’s very inconspicuous. Plus, it didn’t do anything but appear… barely. As “vigilant” as many SJWs claim to be, most of them are pretty sloppy at actually catching ambiguous details.
It also offends Slendermen because, as it turns out, only /one/ Slenderman was a serial killer, and the rest are benevolent entities that are saddened by this endless racial profiling.
