There are several Krampus movies by now on DVD, and most of them are pretty horrible.
Huh! It feels odd to see kids happy to meet old Krampus.
And hmm, if he punishes the naughty – let’s say adults as well as kids for the sake of argument – which of the ponies would get a spanking from him?
“Spoiled Rich! You have made your daughter miserable. Now it’s time for you to feel her pain!”
You asked for this!
Yes, I saw the trailer. I am kinda excited and disappointed about it. Because it is the typical Hollywood treatment, so I don’t expect to much from it. Also I kinda wish they would have chosen a better design for it. Like the Krampus costumes you see every year.
You’re in luck; there’s one coming out this holiday.
Okay, I’ll grant you that. But around the alps it has different roots in different regions. And as I said before, the name Krampus is not that widespread.
Still, it’s a bit to wide spread to be “local”, it’s Alpine folklore so it covers the area around the Alps, that’s like calling the MLB a local baseball organization when covers United States and Canada, not really local.
In Germany the Krampus originally wasn’t found outside of Bavaria. And Klaubauf and Krampus are interchangeable in both regions.
I thought the name in Austria was Klaubauf and that Krampus was the German name.
Under the term Krampus it is. Goes slightly out of our borders though.
I didn’t know Austrian covered all of Northern Europe.
Ya, it’s not just local to you.
I don’t think so. I’m Austrian, and I’d rather not have one of the local traditions turned into a dull horror movie…
guess thats why we have videogames
I’m pretty sure That’s Just the Krampus (He didn’t Come from Anything recent if that’s what you’re thinking)
