Well I don’t know if JJ started it. Because the Gamer Luna charter appeared much later in the Molestia Blog. Post #62 and #69 have been the first Gaming Luna entries on the Moly Blog I could find.

There are three possible sources as far as I can tell. 1. Ask Princess Molestia, 2. The fanfic Progress by Andrew J. Talon, or 3. Luna being a goddess of the night and many gamers habits of nocturnal gaming ended up being associated with each other.
Of course, all of that is speculation.
