But seriously, my take from all the material is Discord will be explaining the nature of the Everfree Forest as from the far past, but none of it is his doing nor within his ability to control, thus setting the Mane 6 towards the forest and the old castle to discover the secrets there (something he should be aware of). This in lieu of the Princesses after they go vanishing.
