That’s the problem. Because some fans make her out to be practically infallible, there’s no room for internal conflict, and because they make her out to be all powerful, there’s no room for external conflict.

I always wondered about that. Honestly, if Celestia is “dangerous” or “obviously hiding her evil nature” to so many, then why does Luna have a fanbase at all? She openly sold herself out to a party that wanted the complete genocide of her nation, for what basically amounts to an ego trip.

People don’t like Celestia more because there is a horrible amount of people that are subconsciously resentful against their own mothers.

That may also be why people initially reacted so badly to Cadance and then again to Twilight.

People have this idea that Celestia is perfect and all powerful, so when she sends someone to handle a dangerous situation, it’s to teach them a lesson and not because they’re actually more capable then her to do that job. I think she would be more well liked if people would allow her to be more human.

While I don’t really agree with the idea of Celestia secretly being a tyrant, there’s no getting around that fact that treating the situation in the Crystal Empire as lightly as she did was a pretty harsh move.

I don’t see why she isn’t, honestly. I guess everyone likes to make her out to be the bad guy because she’s the one in charge, and they like to make conspiracies where there are none, or are just distrustful of authority figures.
