Sht was broken, though. When I plugged it into my SNES, Mario wouldn’t stop JUMPING! I tried every setting on the controller, didn’t work. And I wasn’t even pressing any buttons at one point. I had to chuck it away…

That would be a fun little picture btw if anyone is up to drawing it. A short comic of Buttons arguing with that colt playing on the arcade machine between which interface is superiour for more games, joystick or trackball. Slowly all the other colts begin to join sides. Featherweight and Snips to the joystick side, Snails and Fezpone to the trackball. (and then Fluttershy pipes in that she thinks mice are best. Rage comic reaction ensues)

I still have it. It’s compatible with pretty much all famous consoles, NES, SEGA Genesis, SNES. It’s almost like it’s perfectly designed for a pony.

Well, technically this was better, but it was also likely to get you banned from peoples’ houses if you were into fighting games and competitive puzzle games. (oh man, there’s an SNES innovation we are sorely lacking btw.)
For singlebutton turbos, obviously since they were accessible RIGHT THERE the asciipad was slightly superiour, but this one let you program macros of complicated combos into one button, on AUTO. Never-ending Hadoken chain by holding a single button? And then a different button mapped to a single-push shoryuken? Shotokan ain’ no joke, buddy!
Then there’s the fact that some games had ‘situational inputs’ that did nothing until you had the right conditions. For example, throwing/suplexing people in Final Fight. Instead of blocking someone or taking a hit, with the programpad having the throwing motion on auto-run, you’d throw the enemy immediately when in range. Only Andore, Sodom, Damnd, and the girls had enough range to strike you. Edi could also hit you but only at the start of the battle, as he seems to have the hit-box of one of the smaller punk guys, probably to allow him to swerve past you when he’s shooting like a madman.

Oh my god, that just gave me a nostalgia injection. I wish I could find wherever the hell our SNES is, because I know it still has the friggin’ Turbo Touch 360 attached to it that a friend gave me.

Counterfeits being better than official has been around in video games too. For example, the Atari 5200, I’m sure you’ve seen the Angry Video Game Nerd’s review on that. It’s official controllers were almost unusable. But 3rd party people managed to make decent controllers for that console.

What’s sad is how much better the ‘counterfeits’ are now these days than the officials.
This isn’t just in MLP, but in other lines too. Counterfeit Transformers retain the traditional (and better received) G1 and G2 forms. And they still pump out Beastformers!
Meanwhile the official line has devolved into nothing but Bayformer crap with no facial expressions because it’s a mangled and jumbled mass of metal. And while GI Joe failed because it threw itself into a more character-centric direction after those two shitty movies, and the series based on them, the counterfeit Joes are still very vehicle-centric and have lots of two and three form vehicles. A non-Hasbro counterfeit line that’s also good are these ‘China-fied Dora’ figures you might find at dollar stores or lower-end retail franchises (and a few surviving kaybee stores). Dora figures are either static, or only have hip, head, and arm articulation. The knock-off line includes elbow and knee. BUT, this ‘Dora’ is slanty and light-skinned. Kind of hard to fool your kid with it.
You know what? I would not be opposed to this. Making the other members of the main six into alicorns would resolve my main problems with Twilicorn. Those problems being that the change puts Twilight on a pedestal (well, a higher pedestal than the one she was already on) and downplays the importance of the accomplishments of the other characters.
Of course, I don’t think that this will actually happen in the show, but still.

Traditionally, I heard it was a form of art in China, that is why they are so good with it. But if it is used to dupe and possibly hurt people, then that is wrong.

Funny, I don’t recall anyone actually giving a shit, the same way they continue to not give a shit that Bon Bon is called Sweetie Drops, or that Carrot Top is Golden Harvest.
