Her mane must be a bitch to get right.  
Most artists tend to forget or forfeit the transparence and simply cover her head with an opaque strand, which contrasts sharply with the ethereal flowing quality of the rest (when they even bother to include it, in some other cases she looks downright bald).
 
But there are exceptions. Like this one:
