With that kind of stuff, I’m not irritated because they need background characters. If they use the same stuff, over and over again, it will get stale. I have to concede that 100%.
 
What would irritate me is if they demanded the comics put in something like “pinkie pie’s X-Ray 3D spectacles of wonder,” and then sold them in stores. Not to mention if they wanted to “tie” everything together by making the comic in 3D. Though MLPFIM was designed from the start to sell product, it struck a unique balance between product placement and show. Find myself disgusted when that balance is upset because the people behind it believe they aren’t getting enough money.

They got the right person for the job of the comics and these things are shaping up to be better than the show imho.
 
I just hope Hasbro doesn’t take over and demand they start putting in toy advertisements.
