The comments here make me want to commission more “Cadance as a regular unicorn” art out of pure spite. And I say that as someone who didn’t even really mind her being an alicorn that much.

Nah, original plan was unicorn, book went with backstory as pegasus. All we need now is a toy of Cadance as an earth pony.

that and I believe her original design was a Pegasus until Hasbro said Alicorn (I don’t know who made that decision I am just guessing, I am not blaming Hasbro)

True-Faustian ideal? Hmm. Well, I think if you’re going to change Cadance into a non-alicorn, she should be a pegasus, because isn’t that what she was according to the Crystal Heart Spell or whatever it was?
