So, in a nutshell: I don’t try to put forth my opinion as fact, and I give modest support to both sides of the debate. So how is that unbalanced, exactly?

That comment was hardly “pretty balanced”. How old are you, really? If you think this is bad, you’re going need some much thicker skin if you hope to learn anything, especially on the internet. If you make a subjective comment, you’re going to start a debate, so prepare to get bombarded. If you start the statement with no solid evidence backing up your claim, brace yourself for a LOT more resistance. If you cannot respond with an objective and/or intellectual answer, you’ll lose.
 
Besides, EVERY VIDEO GAME EVER RELEASED was developed on a PC, so, naturally, it’s just better on the home system it was born from. So, technically, consoles are the platforms the games are being ported to.

Because, and here’s a shock, you can purpose-build a PC to play games just the same way you can a console. And presumably you will if you are buying/building it to be used for gaming.
 
If you didn’t understand the picture Xhydralisk just posted, by the way, it’s a demonstration for XBox One. which isn’t actually being run on xbones, it’s run off PCs. Because its a demo where they want to show off how good the game looks. So they don’t run it off an actual console, they run it off a PC instead.

Well, do pardon my ignorance, but I did actually look at all the different versions of one game (Tomb Raider,) and it was extremely clear that the Xbox 360 and PS3 were okay, Xbox One and PS4 were much much better, and PC was in between.
 
Also, how can it be, as you put it, literally impossible for consoles to have better graphics than PC?? Don’t you think that a system specifically designed to run high-quality game graphics would do better than something designed for a wide range of purposes?

Not to mention PC graphics capabilities were already far beyond the latest consoles before they even came out. Games on PC only look the way they do so they can run on console AND PC when they make the ports.
 
The only reason why some games that are console exclusive look better and run better is because the devs can optimize it for one spec, rather than the millions that people have for PC.

I’m pretty sure it is literally impossible for consoles to have better graphics than a PC can have, since as far as processing goes they’re also computers, just held to a constant, uniform standard that is rarely if ever held close to the maximum possible standards available for PCs (because they would be too expensive to mass produce)
