I have hope for the future of the Wii U. I believe that once the heavy first-party games start rolling in and show what the console is really capable of, developers will start to reconsider. Especially in light of the bad press the XBox One is receiving.

The old Sega problem: carry out bullshit for a long time and people will just expect more of it even if it clearly looks like you are trying to prevent that.
 
Dreamcast was, in all seriousness, the best console of its generation, but years of bullshit and stupidity lead to everyone assuming they were lying about their console qualities and thus didn’t get the games. Ultimately, it failed

I dunno, Indie developers have reported that the console is actually fairly friendly, and Nintendo isn’t really imposing any bullshit restrictions on 3rd party developers this time, so I don’t even know what the fuck is holding them.  
I guess they don’t know how to use the gamepad, or worried it will negatively affect sales, but they don’t HAVE to use it…

To be fair, Wii U isn’t what you call your average console, so programming games for it has to be a bit less direct than the other fellows. Maybe less expensive, because they wren’t trying to render nostril hairs, but some time and new things to learn seems to be a needed one.
