I believe this entire series is extrapolated from a Katie Cook mini-comic where Spike does a somewhat similar thing to Hayseed Turniptruck, but this is just pure insanity based on an already out of character and outdated characterization that even before being proven conclusively wrong was very much in doubt

People get a bit upset when a writer/artist spends literally years writing/drawing a story that’s so negative regardless of that. It’s silly, but so is the concept of this comic.
