I’m actually glad the “head butting trees” thing was scrapped personally. That would’ve looked silly, and just imagine all the head-trama jokes everyone would’ve made about Applejack if that did pass.
 
Not all the “changes” to the show were bad, in fact, honestly I like the name/color changes they went with the “mane 6” ponies as opposed to the ones Lauren Faust’s originally wanted. No offense to her, but the color designs didn’t seem as colorful, or varied to me, and some characters were even going to be the same color.

Just like how, in ‘Murica, the first Harry Potter book/movie talks about the Sorcerer’s Stone, while in the rest of the world the correct term, the Philosopher’s Stone, was used. And yet, when I was a kid, they were able to use Philosopher’s Stone in an Uncle $crooge comic.
 
There are times I wonder if there really is a conspiracy to make (or keep) American kids dumber…

“Uncle Has” also decided Applejack ramming trees with her head was a dumb idea, having Rarity sell bridles would be weird, and that having Trixie be a guy would make Boast Busters “Boys are idiots/jerks, the episode”.
 
Besides, there is no “Duke Charming” trope, but everyone knows about Prince Charming.

I’m not normally, a ’shipper, but these 2 ego-maniacs really deserve each other. Maybe caring about each other might even teach them to be considerate of others.
