I don’t mind the aunts. It would make sense for her to still have adults around for her wellbeing and the sisterly bond would still exist since they’re just aunts, but yeah suddenly having parents out of nowhere was pretty weird.

Is not that. Basically since Season 1 Scoot was “allegedly” an orphan even according to Lauren Faust, so her bond with Rainbow Dash as “older Sister” was soemthing special rather than just being them blood-relatives like Apple Bloom or Sweetie Belle, especially important for the episodes when they go camping, the Sisterhooves Social, the Washouts and so on. Having her suddely have parents and aunties out of nowhere was such a bizarre decision from the staff that basically undermines all previous seasons bonding they had. Scoot was supposed to be sort of a tragic character since she also can’t fly but still looks up to one of the Best Flyers of Equestria

Correct! My first draft had Night Light and Twilight Sparkle, but then i realized that for some reason in s9 the writers decided that Scootaloo’s parents were aussies so i changed it to have Snap Shutter and Scoot

Is it because he is Australian?

I think this might’ve been one of the few times we’ve seen Scoot’s dad really care about his daughter.
