There is perhaps some irony here that people will criticize an article they haven’t read for criticizing a movie they haven’t seen.

Because not only have we seen the cover, we’ve read the back of it, and skimmed through it to read a page every couple of chapters. So that argument holds no value anymore and anyone who uses it is a moron.

Okay i think i have to apologize for my earlier comment. I really haven’t read the article beforehand because i really have a bad experience with femenists or atleast people who call themselfs that.

Ugh, fucking Kathleen Richter, making all feminist bloggers look like assholes. I for one 100% agree with the author’s opinion on EG and Twilicorn!

I am absolutely sick of the same arguments being brought up against EqG. That’s the problem. This article adds NOTHING new.

If you actually read it, you’ll notice that it’s essentially just complaints that plenty of people here have stated, but for some reason ‘feminist’ is a dog-whistle term on derpibooru

One must balance feminine and masculine principles, young filly for it is the way to a healthy and sound mind. XD That’s all I have to say to this.

Just went to read the comments. I haven’t seen the author backpedal, and all Sibsy said was the same stupid “You haven’t seen it yet” argument. Opinion of her has dropped sharply, so thanks for pointing that out.

I usually loathe any sort of “feminist” opinion, but I can’t argue with this one.

I have to admit I didn’t read the article, cause I don’t really care what it has say, so I can’t really speak about it.
 
I’m really more speaking in broad terms here, about how there are arguments against EQG that are, or supposedly are, based on the principles of. Well, I’ll just call it basic feminism. And take things a bit too far for trivial things such as wearing skirts.
 
Though if this article isn’t one of those, I’m quite glad to know that.

You say target as if they’re out to destroy this spin off, but the article in question is just an opinion piece that said, in essence, “I think the focus on fashion in the spin off to a show that was a lot more varied is kind of dumb. What do you think?” Perfectly reasonable, and hardly the epitome of the feminazi stereotype.

I actually agree that the skirt thing is sort of a non issue, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with pointing it out, and I tend to get a bit annoyed when the knee jerk reaction to any sort of feminist argument is “why do those whiny feminists have to try to ruin everything?” As if they’ve got no right to talk about things that annoy them.

There are some legitimate, practical reasons why wearing skirts while playing sports doesn’t work so great. Do you think Rainbow Dash is a competitor, or do you think she is playing sports in order to make a fashion statement?
