I’m just worried about the comics half-assing the lore since a lot of the comic writers have given us very disappointing and/or boring results.

I don’t think so, neither of the Pegasi look like a counter part to Private Pansy and neither of the Earth Ponies look like they could be Chancellor Puddinghead.
 
However they do seem to be counterparts to the Mane 6 anyway with Starswirl being Twilight’s counterpart, what’s really interesting is that the likely Pinkie counterpart is a Pegasus (and pink too), while the female Earth Pony has Fluttershy’s eyes which might be a nod to the fact that their species were switched during production

I honestly forsee this tying into the mane series the same way EG and RR have. Both parties will interact in some manner at that moment and then go their separate ways. The information will likely be important and relevant, but it may or may not contribute to the episode in which Twilight is facing off against Hecatoncheires. Even then, it’ll probably be like playing a Zelda sequel like LA and PH, one doesn’t need to go back to source material to understand the elements present within the episode, unless one requires more detail that the episode hasn’t the time to allow… Actually, if I think of it, having Legends of Magic earlier might have made the Seasons Four, Five, and Six Finales more streamlined, they’d have been able to cut some supplementary elements and leave them for LoM to expand upon, while the episode itself focused on the actual fucking plot. >3<

I’m not sure, but I think of the ponies is suppose to be a reference to Cleopatra.

I think Starswirl will return in the S7 opening or the S7 finale to face the villain.

Alright. I just take my annoyed rage out on Applejack when the characters I love get shunned compared to other characters that have bigger fanbases.

You make a very good point. Its just that I don’t think the comic writers are responsible enough to be put in charge of writing these stories.

When I look back and marvel at how much of time MLP has sucked out of my life, my only regret is the stuff the obliterates my headcanon

This series is supposed to be set in the distant past. That means no Mane 6, no Spike no CMC, etc. The only current characters in this time period would be Celestia and Luna. Heck, if they do pre-Equestria stuff with Starswirl and the founders the Sisters might not even be in those stories.
 
There’s no way the show would ever devote multiple episodes to flashbacks without any of the current main and secondary cast present at all. But this comic series allows for these stories to be told.

Applejack is/was my most favorite pony. Until I eventually realized that raw magical power > having good morals and country wisdom.
 
The last Applejack episodes I remember really being into were when she and Rarity went to Manehatten to help Coco Pommel put on a play, and also that episode that had Lady Gaga Countess Coloratura.
 
I also liked that episode where Big Macintosh and Apple Bloom were in the Sisterhooves Social together, that’s an Apple Family episode more than an Applejack one, obviously :3
