My take on the whole “That magic was not yours to give!” trend among the MLP fandom! It’s all in good fun - but I just think Twilight would never ever be that mean to Sunny LMAO - it’s cuter imo if it’s more a passing the torch situation!Version 1 (without words): https://www.deviantart.com/ohmisweetgoodness/art/That-Magic-is-Yours-to-SAVE-v1-988803675
Yeah but honestly it felt like they were really going out of their way to portray some characters certain way. Were there good moments? Yeah sure, I enjoyed that comic series back then at least. But lot of it feels mostly like relying on shock value.
And that’s another great point. When character is good by nature and it’s one of his or her core traits it’s hard for me to take serious stories that go “What if this character was evil”. Of course that might be up to taste too. I admit the older I get the more tired I am of the idea of well-known and established character getting villain treatment. To me it’s just cynical trope for the sake of it at this point.
the problem with evil superman is that superman is supposed to be pure good
Injustice was honestly a bit unnerving for even Superman to kill a literal child.
Evil Superman is such a tiresome idea and only sometimes it feels like it’s done well, I can think of two times when it’s handled decently. And Injustice isn’t even one of those examples since it takes way too many liberties with a lot of characters whatsoever (you could even argue Wonder Woman is bigger villain than Supes in that version of DC). Most of the time it’s just writers trying to be edgy or simply thinking you can’t do a good Superman story if he is a regular good guy.

Which means they done well for him too, The Boys series is meant to be a parody of mainstream heroes.
Yeah pretty much. I think Omniman was done pretty well, not so much Homelander. I feel like he was too cheesy to take seriously.
Bingo. Yeah, that Superman.
Thanks for your insight. I don’t personally find it bad, but I will agree it’s been overdone.
It also went on to influence his personality and intended turn to villainy in the recent movies. In general he’s an easy target for elseworlds where heroes become bad guys or vampires or whatever (There was also Red Son, but that one was actually good).
Wasn’t the Superman one just the Injustice comics?
Would the same apply to earlier examples like Superman and Anakin?

I think it was mostly a way to focus the magic that otherwise came from friendship and companionship. I also theorize that the crystals originated from the Tree of Harmony, as well.
Also i’m pretty sure the whole point of the crystals was so ponies could still have magic while keeping it safe.

Nope, she is definitely not under oath to not intervene, haha. I still think that she will be shown in an upcoming season of Make your Mark.
