My submission for the Equestria Girls 10th Anniversary Art Event, drawing my OC Shooting Star in Equestria Girls’ style.
I would have liked to do the whole coloured lines thing, but I’m already bored with this piece. Given Star’s time-travel origins, her design is intended to look more retro than the modern setting (I was aiming for 80’s, but seemed to land pretty solidly in the 90’s with the skater aesthetic). As with all Crystal Prep students, her “uniform” follows the school’s purple theme, while rocking a varsity jacket.

Character Info:
School: Crystal Prep Academy
Position: Shadowbolts Jock (mirrors Rainbow Dash, with an emphasis on skateboarding)
Background: A transfer student who refuses to talk about her past. She doesn’t have any friends, but her athletic prowess is irrefutable, allowing her to bend a lot of rules around school. Many question whether she deserves her laurels, but any who challenge her are quickly put in their place. Unfortunately, Shooting Star had to return home just before the Friendship Games against Canterlot High, forcing Crystal Prep into a difficult position without their star athlete.
