Waitwaitwait, you’re saying no pink mane was a G4 team screw up yet still blaming G5 here? Ok, don’t pull a muscle reaching that hard.

Also, all your “rainbow means she had full control” and whatnot is fan theory that assumes the pink hair in the storybook was not an artistic choice and was literal because nothing of the sort was in the show.

Frankly Anon, this can be summed up as you’re not happy your headcanon isn’t real and you’re doing mental gymnastics to try and make it some sort of canon supported thing.

Celly having a pink mane was never canon, it was just fan interpretation because of her pink hair in Twilight’s book about nightmare moon.

The book also clearly showed Luna with a lighter blue body fur and lighter blue mane color along with Celestia having pink mane color right? And s1 Luna had exactly the same body colors as what was in the book after the mane 6 drained her of nearly all of her magical powers with the Elements of Harmony.

If Celestia had also been hit with the Elements of Harmony too as well then it’s very likely that her mane color would’ve returned to its original pink mane color. It never happened due to Daybreaker not being real in fim and only being in Starlight’s dream which is a shame as Hasbro had missed their one and only chance to show the fim fans the real Celestia.

So thanks to Hasbro messing up with Celestia in fim, G5 has a chance to be better than fim was. You can already see that whoever was in charge of making fim after Faust left Hasbro Studios messed up because G5 had to use Luna’s original body colors for her filly form instead of her s1 colors because they had no idea of what filly Celestia’s mane colors were like because it was never actually shown in the fim series and the book was the only possible theory of that. Of course that would piss off the s1 Luna fans who already knew what Luna’s body colors looked like when she was younger or drained of her magic or both in the fim series.

Do I think Celestia would’ve looked better with pink mane colors in G5? Yes, because that would’ve made more sense than using her normal rainbow mane colors as Celestia wasn’t strong enough to control the Sun yet at the time so I’m surprised that the people working on G5 didn’t think of that first before they animated a filly Celestia in G5.

Long story short, they screwed up and didn’t get their filly forms right in G5 and to add insult to injury they also forget that Celestia and Luna’s manes are always flowing in the air in that form and is never relaxed unless they get drained of both of their magic.

These designs really aren’t ugly, they’re just different because they’re G4 characters in G5 style. Familiar characters redesigned will always be jarring at first.

Not their true filly forms. It was canon in G4 that filly Princess Celestia had an pink mane color before she got her easter rainbow mane color and of course there’s s1 Luna from fim with a different body color patterns than the one you’re looking at now.

Whoever is working on making G5 didn’t do their homework on G4 Celestia and Luna first before putting them both in the G5 series.

Found out that Hasbro created another 3D version of Celestia for a cancelled Hello Pinkie Pie! espoide and her 3D model looks great.
