There was a similar issue years ago (the 1930s) when Disney came out with the first Mickey and Minnie Mouse plushies. Back then Mickey’s ears were always drawn right next to each other on top of his head no matter which way he was looking, the problem was plushies are actual physical objects so you can’t do that. They wound up facing the ears forward and curving them.
Well she is a background pony.
Her eyes? They’d look like that when seen from head on. Technically it’s realistic, but it looked just as weird in G1.
The show is 2D, so G4 can cheat and avoid such moments, but with 3D models, consistency is kind of enforced…
