I think that was…more than just a little exaggeration on her end, lol. For her to get that many views, each of the (give or take) 100,000 young ponies in Zephyr Heights would have to watch the video roughly one million times each. That or the entire population of Equestria (at roughly 3 million at my highest estimate, largely around Zephyr Heights) would have to watch it 2,000 each.

Either way, that level of viewership being reached is highly unrealistic, and for that reason I definitely see Pipp as being a boaster when she was saying that.

Yeah, I suppose that’s kinda like real life, where you might have to be just a little bit clickbait-y to keep up viewer counts and such.

Also, though, remember Pipp’s top 10 fails video - she says it got 13 billion views (though for how long it had been up, we don’t know, and also she could be lying, but still)

The intent is supposed to be in-universe HoofTube, and that’s exactly why the views are so low compared what we’d expect of an internet superstar. Remember that G5 only has three cities, all of which are rather small relative to real-world (and G4) cities. Zephyr Heights has everything packed into a single city center with no suburbs, Maretime Bay is a small town, and Bridlewood is basically just a glorified condo community. As a result, Maretime Bay and Bridlewood combined likely don’t even come near the 1 million mark in population. As for Zephyr Heights, it probably has only around a million residents at max, and very possibly has less in reality. So at absolute max, we’re probably looking at a population of 1.2 million ponies in G5. That, coupled with the fact that realistically not every soul wants to watch Pipp’s stuff in general; not every soul who watches is going to want to watch all of Pipp’s stuff; this is a fully edited video rather than a stream VOD, meaning some might be saving it for a better time to watch…I think a little under 500k in 6 hours is reasonable.

(Though to “her benefit”, I was kind of recontextualizing the screencap into a different situation [Pipp having intentionally put on a pumpkin costume or something as part of an existing viral prank].)

Almost surprised there isn’t a (SHE ALMOST DIED) and a (GONE SEXUAL) in the title. Either way, I love the parody of DoucheTubers.

In the pony world….maybe. But considering in the real world the official MLP YouTube channel has only 4.59 million subs and most of the videos don’t get even 1 million views (far from it-most fail to crack the 500,000 view mark), I don’t think that it would be all that unrealistic to see a Pipp video getting uploaded to YouTube failing to get 500,000 views in 6 hours.
