The thing with those burps is that it was Spike’s way to “receive” letters. He burped the scrolls.
Trust me, dude, if Spike crapped the letters, it would’ve been entirely different. Also, the burps were plot devices.
“Oh, Spike burped a letter, now we have the reason for this episode”, and move from there.
Here, Sparky farted to burn a door, by accident. That’s not a plot device, that’s critical path! You are telling me a door that was blocked was reduced by a fart? That’s dumb! Maybe if the lil one burped and burned the door, we could’ve said “Wow, Dragonbreath”. But no, a dumb joke to solve a problem.
