Description

A younger Carrie, in her early acting days, from a time when Stendhal wasn’t born yet, Fresca wasn’t either and Willy was a nerdish Archeology student, with huge round glasses and even bigger bags under his eyes, constantly doing two things: studying for the next exam and trying to get a certain gorgeous actress to notice him.
I probably said this already, but Carrie was designed with a precise “Roaring 20’s cinema star” aesthetic in mind, an era when stars were subtly elegant, enigmatic, serious and magnetic. Wavy hair, deep female voices and noir atmospheres: all these elements were super in back then.
With all this in mind, I decided to use a photograph by actress Greta Garbo as reference for this drawing’s expression. Another source of inspiration was the beautiful short story ElectraDust wrote, featuring Carrie and her son Stendhal stumbling across “a dusty picture frame” from her glorious theater and movie acting days (Inktober-Day 7: Fancy).
I really recommend checking it out, as well as the artwork ^^
And I hope you like this portrait :D I’m so proud of the mane ouo
