If I recall the owner of the house Andy was trying to buy also didn’t tell them the issues. Like basement flooding and a crack in the furnace.

I remember something about an episode where Opie tried to sell a bike to another kid without telling them what was wrong with it. But that’s all I can remember
I don’t remember that one. I hope I can find a video online for that scene. I think the most famous episode of the show though, would have to be the goat that ate dynamite.
You mean the one where he got the WWII motorcycle and drove everyone nuts with it?
Agreed. Cheap doesn’t always mean low quality. But when buying anything used, you really need to inspect it thoroughly. That’s something Aunt Bee didn’t do. She bought the low quality beef from a new butcher in town, and Andy was upset with her for not going to their regular one. And Bee thought she’d gotten a great deal till they actually ate the beef.
Yes I remember that episode. She didn’t just buy cheap beef. The freezer was also crap because she bought it used as well. And she kept trying to say it was a good deal, even though the freezer was clunking around and barely worked. Then it broke down, and they hired the most inept handyman to fix it, Gomer Pile. And he just made it worse. And the beef she bought turned out to be some of the worst cuts of the cow, and really just not that good to eat. Andy told her to take the beef to the butcher to store it, and her pride wouldn’t let her. And when she finally caved, she had a bunch of dogs chasing her for the meat she was pulling on a wagon. And at the end of the episode she just got mad at Andy for spending a lot on a brand new freezer.
