My question is why Earthbound was only directly referenced once in the entire G4 franchise, though there are many more parallels.

The Mario reference was obvious, but honestly the first thought that came to my mind was Earthbound and the boss Shrooom!, I wonder if she would fight just like him if you get on her bad side.
