Hardly. They might’ve said they were rejecting friendship and only teaming up out of convenience, but it’s obvious that they were in denial. As has been mentioned in this very thread, it’s not as if Starlight, Tempest or Discord changed their minds right away. It would only have taken the right circumstances to push them that little bit further.

If they’re shown as much consideration as they were in The Ending of The End, I find that unlikely. Besides, even if there was a chance of that, why would I care? The show is over and it wasted the one perfect opportunity it set up. I see no point in grasping at straws to pretend that its terrible narrative decisions were undone offscreen, dubiously canonical comic or not.
where not going into that again, quite literally if u go read the idw comic that this is being presented in Comic102 they are getting free

They only learned the benefits of working together. Not friendship. Why didn’t Starlight reform on her own without any help or Discord for that matter? Those three were never given any help in rehabilitating. Its actually interesting to see how far they managed to come when they did not have Twilight or one of her friends try to help them.
They deserved better.

After Frenemies, there was no excuse not to redeem them.
Aside from the fact that they deliberately chose to reject friendship (and by extension, redemption), and did so even after having experienced the benefits of working together and the feelings that came with having others to rely on.

Frankly I’m perfectly fine with the way the series ended. They earned the fate they got.

Well, I’m glad you enjoy it in any case. As it happens, I’ve been sitting on an incomplete fix fic for years now. I’m still trying to improve my writing though, so progress on it has been glacial.

Actually gives me a better reason to respect your opinion XD
But in the end I find it to be one of the better written Fanfic on the topic (that has come out and not just an outline). Plus it a weekly comic so I appreciate the effort of not making it just another Fanfic.
Sorry your not a fan of it, maybe you’ll write your own take on the subject

Quite the opposite. After Frenemies, there was no excuse not to redeem them. They’d shown they were capable of changing, certainly more so than other villains I could name, and the show spent a whole season creating the perfect opportunity for them to earn their redemption, only to squander it. When I saw the leaked screencaps from The Ending of the End, my reaction was, quite literally, this (you can probably find the exact comment if you look hard enough).

Yeah Triek backstory was the only one I did not really have a problem with. Chrysalis backstory could have taken place right before the wedding. Thankfully the backstory part is over now.
As for the text, kinda looks like it is to much, but I have a feeling if it was put into a word document it would not be a whole lot. I found that most of the time, the dialog fits the characters.
But I take it you did not want them to reform in the first place, even after the Frenemies episode? Because that the people who would not enjoy it as much.

Aside from my aforementioned dislike of the concept, I find the dialogue to be rambling and unfocused, the character writing to be quite poor and the sympathetic backstories invented for the villains to be utterly eyerolling.

Who can say? Maybe they were reformed offscreen, but somehow, I doubt it. Even if such a thing is attempted, which I doubt it would be, it’s bound to fail. The last real opportunity for them to change has passed. There’s just nothing left for them except the pursuit of revenge and the longer they’re imprisoned in there, the more true that will become.
In any case, we’ll only know if they do appear. I just prefer not to think about it.
