Hmmm. Sounds like our unborn fan-fics fit together perfectly.
You know, I had a similar idea for a fanfic involving my oc who is in the 30th Unicorn Shock Regiment in the same stuation under the command of Princess Luna who leads forces from all over Equestria including a few Griffon and Buffalo divisions in the force.
Maybe that was where Luna was the whole time…
My ponysona that I play as for RPing is a former member of the 505th Pegasus Infantry Regiment (PIR), which is the Equestrian equivalent to paratroopers. They’d fly in to a battle field and attack laterally from the air, and fight ground-to-ground as infantry. I’m toying with writing a fic about them attacking Changeling-held Canterlot during the royal wedding in a desperate last-ditch attempt to save the city.
Cobra Company sounds like a good name.
They probably even have a Special Force.
Royal Equestrian Commandos- Sounds like a good piece for a fanfic. What if Armor AND Cadence and the Mane6 failed to expell the changelings from Canterlot?
After the changelings took over Canterlot during the Wedding, a team of 6 Commandos were sent on a rescue and sabotage mission to clear a way for the retaking of Canterlot. An attack force lead by Princess Luna.

Makes sense. I like it. I’d think they’re technology would be much more antiquated then this, though.
Royal Guards are of a separate entity of the Armed forces made to protect Canterlot, the Royals, and royal emissaries.
