Yeah, true. Modern 3D software engines are incredibly advanced, allowing for cinema-quality designs for a much lower pricetag and far fewer man-hours on the design aspect (hence why we are seeing so many Blender fan designs for various MLP characters). So creating a diverse cast should be significantly easier, while also adding in additional features like more realistic fur and mane textures as well as more accurate lighting via raytracing (both of which was seen in the recent ‘a New Generation’ movie). So I wouldn’t be surprised if we continue to see more unique pony design in the upcoming series, as well, and potentially new designs for the additional species in Equestria ( I know that I, for one, would love to see MLP dragons rendered in Blender. That would be fantastic).

Ya, good point. Birth defects certainly couldn’t be far-fetched since all 3 races lived in near-total isolation for so long, either, not to mention without magic that used to be a tightly integrated fact of life.

Now that they switched away from Adobe Flash to AutoDesk Maya or Blender, they certainly could easily make ponies of any design with way fewer man-hours; the majority of what went into man-hours would go into computer rendering, which they mighta utilized in the movie already.

Still, if you are right about every other young adult Pegasus pony mare being bigger than Pipp, that begs the question of ‘why did the designers make Pipp shorter than the other ponies’? I would think they would care a bit about consistency, and therefore make at least a few other characters that were shorter to add more variety to the mix. Pipp not being like that leads me to assume that she had a bad birth defect or something? It is so strange to me to think an entire race of ponies can be the same height and build. Even if they were living in the same environment realistically there would be more variety than that. At least, in my opinion.

Not just the main cast but every other young adult Pegasus pony mare, made apparent by G5 evidently increasing individuality (and maybe introducing race diffs) by making ponies vary in body size and height. Of which Pipp seems to be a special case: shorter+chubbier than other Pegasus mares; even funnier: Pegasi are overall bigger than Earths or Unicorns, which is counter-productive when you should be able to fly (TBF, they lacked the passive magic necessary for flight).

I am confused. Was ‘the barn door was that way’ supposed to be an insult directed at me? If so, I don’t understand the logic behind insulting me for something I said, especially since I was never trying to offend you or what you were saying.

In either case, I would think that there are other shorter ponies in Equestria much like Pipp. And I never thought that Pipp was all that short either way-frankly, I think the memes made her look shorter than she really is (though admittedly she is slightly shorter than the rest of the Mane Five, though not much shorter).

It is normal for us humans. Who says it isn’t normal for ponies? I would think that ponies can come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes.
