He’d be a great addition to the new mane 6 (if there will be a 6th). Be great to have that one friend who just isn’t “with it” like the others. He could learn about being a better pony by messing up a lot.
But his actions are a result of his upbringing and the environment he grew up in.
It’s like the Fishman arc in One Piece. Nothing ever happened to Sprout, no Unicorn or Pegasus ever wronged him. But he was always taught to fear and hate them.
If he wasn’t so detestable, it’d be a stretch to say he wanted to be the hero and be loved and admired by being the one to “save” his village from the other races. We can see how jealous he is of Hitch.

He didn’t appear out of nowhere like Scrappy Doo or Starlight. He is legit an OG in the gen 5 series. In the opening of the movie, you see Sprout, Hitch and Sunny. And after the time skip, after you see the grown up Sunny, the second main grown up character you see is Sprout chasing her during her song. This was done deliberately.

I am hoping they will actually make Sprout reletable and likable by giving him both positive and negative qualities to his character to balance each other out.
If you give him too much of either positives or negatives then he will be insufferable annoying and the viewers will just want him gone.
he’ll probably just end up being a base breaking character instead of a scrappy, as long as a character is important and complex even if not likeable in the normal sense, they 90% have some fans somewhere.

I guess Phyllis is in no hurry to discuss money. Well now that magic is back, things are more unpredictable, so she still would be making money.

If you look at Sunny, Hitch, Zipp, Pipp and Izzy, they all appear to be emotionally mature. I can’t imagine how fun their stories could be if none of them act childish. Now put Sprout into the mix. Imagine all sorts of shinanigans they’d get into because this guy does things.
Mordacai characters are never as fun without Rigby characters.
